Playing solo
All Olympians have coaches and dieticians. All successful startup founders have co-founders, investors, advisors or mentors to help them. All notable individuals have had colleagues or a team. Wright brothers had each other. Marie Curie had Pierre. Andre Agassi had his dad. Guru Nanak had Mardana during his travels.
Support can flow your way and if not, actively seek it. A family member or friend can become your pillar of support. Share your dreams with someone, you’ll often find support. Internet is a great way for this. If you have the means, hire an exec coach. Go to meetups and connect with people. Write a message to someone to be your mentor.
If you’re an overachiever, you’ll need solitude to discover your strengths, work hard and hone your skills. Even then, you’ll need support of others to move fast. Being a recluse and playing solo can make things unnecessarily tough. There’s no point in living life on a ‘hard mode’.
