Today, my team sent me pics of some unique customers.
200+ Buddhist monks from Kais Monastery ordered socks from SockSoho.com (my startup). According to them, our plain colored socks go amazingly well with their robes.
Our socks are often seen being flaunted by top fashionistas, celebs, CEOs and urbane men. But monks? That’s a first for us. ;)
I honestly found it pretty cute and shared this image on my Facebook.
A friend commented, “I'm reminded of Bertie Wooster's mauve spats, which Jeeves strongly disapproved of. Style wise, the bhikkhus would be amazing with a burst of colours flashing with every stride. Reflecting the bright colours that are used in highlights in monasteries. But it would go against the sangha philosophy of abstinence and self-control.”
That made think deeper. You see, happiness can be found in small things in life. A pair of socks make these monks happy. Just a pop of color to match their wardrobe color. Who says fashion is not for everyone? ;)
